Dear friends, it’s been quite a while since we stated that we were “resuming” our blog and podcast. Since we initially stated our intentions, we have done our best to “reboot” things in a timely manner that would honor our followers as much as possible. However, sometimes that process can take longer than expected, and we have ended up taking longer than expected – ha! And, it is also worth an apology from each of us collectively for our lack of communication and discipline to follow through with an unofficial re-release of our blog! We want to be partners with each of you in your respective ministries, and we know to do that well means to produce media content for our subscribers. 

With all this being said, we want to be the first to welcome you (back!) to our blog – or if you’re new, welcome! We knew before ever putting pen back to paper, if you will, that we needed to figure out what our sequencing looked like. All four of our contributors have gone through multiple life changes that have looked different to each of us, so figuring out what our availability looked like was more difficult than we originally planned or thought it would look like. However, the time has come where we have simply resolved to take back our regular habits of producing blogs and podcasts at the rate we can all afford (mainly in terms of time) while remaining faithful to our families and lives outside of this platform.

At the end of the day, that is Solomon’s plea to all who read his wisdom in Ecclesiastes. He tells us in 3:1, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Now, please do not misunderstand: no one contributor here believes that the season of Everyday Theology is done or complete. However, we do know that our recent season has looked radically different from where it was a year or two ago. So, a new season is beginning, but it does not mean that our “season” is over – we do not believe the Lord is done with what we’re doing here at Everyday Theology. 

Blogging Sequence

For all of our contributors, the most affordable way to continue this ministry is through written content. So, naturally, the blog is going to be our first priority. Truthfully, when this was started back 6 or 7 years ago, it was exclusively a blog or written media, so we want to be true to our roots and put out articles (and other written avenues, as well) most consistently to keep up with our normal scheduled programming. All of us are at different seasons of life, so we all have great theological content from which we can mine. 

The blog, then, is where you will be able to interact with our contributors the most, for the time being as we navigate what moving forward looks like. As of now, our blogs will stand to be released every single week on Tuesdays – just as they were previously. And if you have any sort of topic you would like to discuss or different areas of theology you’d like to hear our opinions on, please reach out to us through any of our social media outlets and we would be more than happy to schedule a write up for you! 

Podcasting

As for podcasting, we would all love to be able to put out a weekly podcast – truly we loved doing it! However, with all of us having more children and busier lives as they get older and more involved with school and such, we believe our time is better sourced through the blogging sphere of our ministry. This does not mean we will never put out a podcast, it just means that a podcast every week or two will not be the regular. To be honest, we try to play to each of our contributors’ strengths, and some enjoy one over the other, but at this moment, we have all agreed that the podcasting platform needs to be put on hold for a bit while we get our bearings about us again after taking some time off.

While we would love to have the freedom (and capacity) to put out a weekly, or even a bi-weekly podcast, this is just not what we feel is best suited for us as we try to get back to normal scheduled programming. Eventually, we would LOVE to get back to podcasting, but for now with our respective life stages, that is not doable.

Other Written Content

However, we would like to add to our catalog of written media to include some other sections of content.Behind the scenes, there was a rather sizable project that we worked on that never saw the light of day. This is something that we have considered revisiting or even putting out in digital form over time. 

Most importantly, we value you. Most of you know our contributors and our strong points so making suggestions regarding how we might assist to connect theological truths to everyday believers.

Thank you for sticking with us during the time we spent away. Through every season of Everyday Theology, it has always been our prayer and aim to serve the local church by providing resources that connect theological truth to everyday believers.
